I have employees who need to share 3 printers. The printers all have RJ45 ethernet ports. Does anyone know how we can do this without unplugging the cables each time one of the users needs to print?

Inter-connect all your printers and computers through a router/hub.
Each printer has an unique Ip address mapped to the respective name of the printer.whenever you want to use a printer, you choose it by its name and the router connects you to the printer

Network them. Visit your local office supply or electronics store. They will have 8-port ROUTERs.

Step 1: Buy 8-port ROUTER
Step 2: Setup up the router. Most have very easy to follow instructions with pictures.
Step 3: Plug all of the computers and printers into the router using ethernet cables.
Step 4: Reboot your computers. They should automatically get IP addresses. To check this go into the Control Panel/Networking at each computer . It should tell you the address in the form 192.168.1.100 or something similar. Note that the address should begin with 192.168.
Step 5: Setup each printer, one at a time, to be used as a network printer. You will have to consult the setup guide for each printer.
Step 6: Reinstall the printer driver on each computer to use the printer from the network instead of being directly connected. (There is a way to do this without reinstalling but if you are not technical, reinstalling is the easiest way.)
Step 7: Print test pages from each printer.

Good luck.

If they have RJ45 (otherwise known as ethernet) connectors, that means they are network-enabled. All you need to do is connect all the computers/printers to an ethernet switch and configure network printing on the printers (exact steps vary depending on manufacturer)

Install another component for your printer to plug into. That is, if your motherboard is big enough for another drive. That way one of the computers can have 2 printers plugged in and installed onto it and if the 2 computers are on a LAN than all computers can use all printers if you put sharing on them. That probably sounds complicated. Sorry :(

The ports hook up to your network (I assume you are on a network). Then each Printer gets its own address. Then each printer can have access to any of the printers (it prints over the network).

Yes, you can get a router so that each printer has an IP address and can be selected at the time of printing.

You need a ethernet switch like linksys' 8-port switch. Then you can plug in all the printers and computers all the time.

you'd have to set up a wireless network between all three computers and printers
