I have a new Gateway GT 4010 and ethernet card originally came on the motherboard went bad. Gateway sent me new one, but this one goes in where the expansion slots are used. If I put this in will it be a slower connection than if I made them put a new one on the motherboard? I know gateway would rather not have to put a new one on motherboard because it would mean that I would have to send the computor in to the factory to have them install it. I just did not want to do anything to make the internet slower and I am afraid that even though it might work by installing a ethernet card in the expansion slots it can not be as quick or effective.

I am trying to connect 2 usb extensions to one of my usb cables. My device works when I add one 5m usb cable extension but doesn't when the 3rd extension is added.

Does this mean you can only extend the cable once?

Any useful advice would be helpful.

This is how I understand it, so someone please clarify it for me.
In order for someone to gain access to a wireless network, they must give a WEP or WPA password or key. But, since it's wireless, that key must travel in open space before reaching it's destination.

What is to prevent someone from intercepting the key (and decrypting it if they choose) then forwarding that same key on to the same destination?

Thanks!

I have a Buffalo Airstation WHR-G5S wireless router hooked to a cable modem, I have the home pc wired to the router connected to LAN out 1, software is installed and internet is working great. If I allow the conflicting IP on the Laptop, which is using a wireless adapter, then renew the IP on the pc the problem is resolved for about 30 minutes. The laptop reconnects for some reason, I haven't set either one up as a server, basically followed the instructions given. Also, I visited the routers website and there wasn't anything that could help me.....thanks
