if you set it up right you should have some kind of a wireless icon down by the clock
double click that
look for some thing that says view available networks or something similar
then look for your router or network name in the list that shows up. if there is a list it might just be yours listed that depends on the area you are in.
find yours and double click that will attemp to connect you to your router if you have protected your network it will require a password to connect if you havent than it will just connect
if this process doesnt get you online try this
click start-control panel (if you dont see control panel click settings then control panel)-look for network connections or network something right click it and choose properties-right click local area connection-highlight tcp/ip by clicking it 1 time-choose properties-make sure that IP address and DNS info are set to obtain automatically-hit ok or apply to everything that should close all those windows
next
click start
run
type cmd
hit enter
type ipconfig /flushdns
hit enter
type ipconfig /registerdns
hit enter
type ipconfig /release
hit enter
type ipconfig /renew
hit enter
if none of this works i dont think you installed your NIC the right way
good luck

I will take it as read that you have a cable connection from your Internet Service Provider which is plugged into a ADSL/Cable Modem. If you have connected the router to the wirelessly then it will have setup either a WEP or WPA encryption key for you to use as protection. This will have to be entered into the setup of the Airlink wireless adapter, otherwise the connection will not be allowed. Check the settings of the Windows 2000 PC as well to make sure that any WEP or WPA keys are correct.

If it's your router, you may have set it to need a WEP or security Key in order to connect. If you're using another person's router (such as a WiFi connection at a local coffee shop) ask them for the Key.

Next, be sure you have set the router's IP to be your computer's Gateway to the internet. The instructions with your router should cover this step.

lastly, be sure that the router is connected to the modem properly. The modem, whether Dial up or DSL or Cable, is the connecting point to the internet and needs to be configured properly, also.

Did you properly set up the router and install the wireless adapter with the proper software?

You need to configure the router so that it works with your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
