I've got a wireless router for my cable right now and everything works fine, but it's a little inconvenient, bc my dad's pc is opposite end of the house and doesn't get wirless so we have to rund a 100' ethernet cable through the house. i'm concidering slightly upsizing our network system since when ppl come over to play halo or lan party or something, i pretty much have to rewire the entire thing. would a new 308Mbs router connected to like an 18 port auto detect switch be more useful for lan parties and xbox/playstation online? a switch just is basically like a large router that automatically detects which ports are being used and can cut connection to the other ports so that the ocupied ports recieve more of the bandwidth?

I see people posting little hearts around Facebook and want to know how to do it!! I found a website that lets you copy and paste, but that's not what I'm looking for. When I press "ALT+3" the computer just beeps at me and doesn't make a symbol. Any help??

I have Windows Server 2003 installed on my server, but I'm new to server software. What I usually do is repair my connection. If that doesn't work, then I'll unplug the power to my router, then that usually gets it back. Any possible solutions? thanks.

I am attempting to put in a printer, but the company will not let me use the "Local printer attached to this computer" option, but they did give me the IP to the printer I am supposed to use, kinda backwards if you ask me, but I think I can get it to work without going through the nightmare of our tech support if I can figure out the URL to the IP they gave me. I know about ping and tracert, is there a way to reverse that and instead of putting in the URL to get the IP, you can put in the IP and get the URL?

I have a broadband router that used to be connected via cable which had a RJ45 connection. I now have ADSL which only has a RJ11 cable connection. Will the RJ11 socket plug into the RJ45 socket of the router and will it work?
