Aircrack, wepcrack, and airsnort are three common tools used for this purpose, running on a Linux LiveCD like Knoppix or Slax, so you can boot your laptop into Linux off the CD and run wepcrack for example. There are many combinations of Linux versions and wireless cracking tools that will do the trick, just make sure your choice has drivers/apps to support which wireless card you're using. I'll leave it at that being an ethical CISSP I won't give the actual instructions, but this is enough of a start along with some reading/research and google searching and you've got it.

If you really want a step by step explaination you should get a hold of the CWSP classroom and lab text. There are many different tools that you can use to actually crack the WEP key, but finding an all in one tool that captures the packets and then breaks the key is impossible. Find yourself a good analyzer like airsnort and any good cracking software will work. This will not be a five minute thing. It can take days to capture enough of the right packets to begin a crack.

Depending on the network you are trying to break into, the best way might be through some sort of social engineering hack.

Not that I would recommend you do anything like try to break into another person's or organization's network.
