I just need a reliable desktop computer to get through 3 more years of college and then I will get a very nice one (probably Apple) or build my own then b/c I'll have more time to put it together & money. Right now I just need something i can use through college. Any suggestions, and WHY use that one?

We have a very important user who was on an Exchange server that failed. It turns out the backups on this machine were failing, as well, so all we have for a backup are his "cached Exchange mode" messages from his .ost file. We've got another Exchange server up and running, but how do we move his mailbox from the old server using only an ost when the original box is completely dead and will never be back up?

I desperately need to use system restore on my computer, but every time I attempt it, it says that "System Restore cannot be completed". When I click "Help", it says that the problem may be due to the fact that I got Anti-Virus/Spyware and Firewalls installed on my computer (which I'm aware that I do). How can I use System Restore while being able to keep my "protection" running and functioning? Please give me answers in as simplified form as possible.

Just today i lost my CD-ROM link on my computer it says on device manager that its code 41 this has happened before however i whipped my computer and it was back again but its happened again.

hi,

i have a nVidia geForce 4 ti4200 128MB graphics card, and i am considering buying a 22" widescreen monitor (1680 x 1050 ).

I am just wondering if this is possible? will my graphics card support this resolution? I only use my computer for programming, internet browsing, instant messaging, so graphics demands are not high at all.

I have a dell inspiron 6000 laptop and recently my wireless connection doesnt work anymore. My friend looked at my laptop and said my Wifi isn't on thats why. But he tried to turn it on and it doesn't tured on. He did the whole Fn and F2 thing but that did not work. He then tried to download drivers online using my laptop with WIRED connection and thought he found the solution.

However, it still does not work. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? My router is perfect because my laptop does not even detect any wireless connections at all. Usulaly there is around 8 around my home so the router is definitely nnot the problem. My friend even connected to my wireless router that day using his ITouch.

What can i do?

Is it true that depending on the amount of disk space you have in your internet options settings, can effect how many cookies will be kept on file?

I have been told that if the limit is reached (like you have set it to 1 mg for example) it may begin to overwrite older cookies... but will it necessarily be in order by date? In other words... will the oldest ones get deleted and replaced by the new?

For some reason... when testing it on my computer... i have tried visiting new websites... to see if the old ones will delete .. and they dont?

see. all i have is the license key from my old windows xp home edition.. that computer shut down and stopped working a long time ago.. but yesterday i put it's drive in my external hard drive case & used that little jelleybean windows key finder to find it's license key.. what would be wrong if i download windows xp home edition from one of those file sharing sites & use MY serial? ..i figure it's ok... it's not like i'm sharing my key with the rest of the world or anything.

I just bought a computer and there was no "wireless" option i could select, so now I've got not internet. We've got wireless in the house that I was using on my laptop, but I haven't had a desktop in a while, SOOO I'm wondering what I need to buy.
I was HOPING that these usb wireless adapters would do the trick, but now I'm not so sure it'll be that simple.
