There was a woman that got prosecuted for using limewire, so i suggest not using it. It is illegal, and it can give viruses to your computer, or so rumors say. My friends have limewire and none of them get viruses from it, but it's still immoral and its a question of character whether you are willing to cheat artists and lyricists out of their lifes work because you're too cheap to spend $.99 on each song.

Not always. Sometimes people have trouble with their computer running slower, because Limewire uses a lot of your systems resources and causes less memory for other programs. When downloading songs and things, pay close attention to the size of the file. Usually an .mp3 is between 3-6 MB. If you see songs that are, i.e, 170kb, never download these, as these contain a virus.
I used to be completely against Limewire, but after using it again for the past 6 months I've really never had any problems...

Limewire as a P2P application is not illegal. Sharing and downloading copyrighted material is. Don't confuse the application with the action. Given that most people use P2P applications for copyright infringement, people assume that the P2P software is illegal even though there are many legitimate reasons to use it (i.e. game updates, open source software, trial software, etc...).
That said, you need to use some common sense with any P2P application. Make sure you trust the sources you are pulling from. Make sure files are legitimate (many will use MD5 hash codes to ensure it hasn't been altered). Make sure you have permission to use the content (i.e. don't download music files that you do not have rights to use).

Specifically, by using Limewire, you could potentially run into copyright infringement issues, whether it's movies or music you're considering downloading.

Yes, there is one small tiny risk of getting caught and being jailed. There is another risk of downloading some monster viruses, or lots of viruses onto your PC. Its not good to use limewire, use multiply instead or use HMV. Perfectly legal and no chance of infection.

First off its illegal. Second, there is a chance of catching a virus or worm. Third, Limewire is good for songs, not movies.

Besides the legal ramifications of downloading copyrighted material illegally, there is the negative impact on your system performance and the very real likelihood of mal-ware infecting your computer. Mostly ad-ware, last I looked in on it, but it's been a while.
