not trying to be an *** or anything, but norton is the worst AV out. It constantly has problems and never updades in time to stop the new viruses. I used to use it, and scan often, but i would only get 1 or 2 infected files per scan. Then i swithced to NOD32 and scaned to find that i had about 250+ different virii on my computer. Google NOD32 to really protect yourself

I would suggest that you contact Norton / Symantec.com technical support or look at their FAQ pages as you probably have misconfigured something either in the Norton software or within your computer's network or browser settings.
Since you have paid for the service you should take advantage of their professional advice and not the biased opinions of non-technical people on a public web board.
Good Luck

Remove Norton and switch to AVG Free Edition. It uses less memory, works better, lets your machine run faster, and it is free. http://free.grisoft.com/
