The anti-virus software is Norton Anti-virus, by Symantec.

Norton does not provide a way to do this. Norton also has other problems.

I always tell people to use AVG Free Edition instead. It is faster, uses less memory, works better than Norton and is free.

You don't, the anti-virus software will download those definition from Symantec server.

I believe you have to use their "intelligent updater" to connect to the internet.. but you can check the site yourself too.
McAfee will allow you to download an executable virus definition file that you can put on a usb key or cd to update computers that do not connect to the internet.

I would not recommend switching to freeware as one person suggested... you get what you pay for.
