MOBO : P4M800PRO -M V1.oA , FSB 1066.
DDR 400 or DDR2 533.
My old RAM ddr2 400 256 MB. Which i removed to install the fresh one. My system boots occasionally, if it boots it works fine. sometimes it doesnt boot at all. Confused.....

when i right click on my drive D, E or F chinese character appears instead of open and open with on that window. and when i double click any of the mentioned drive , the window appears that choose a programme from a list

So is it a chinese virus. i already have AVG . But AVG is unable to sort out this problem. my AVG is updated. i scan all my computer but AVG shows no virus threats.

what should i do

I'm a college student and I'm probably going to make the transition to a Mac. I heard about the Bootcamp feature on the new Leopard and I was wondering if I should install windows xp or windows vista? i think since xp is already solid with updates and security packs, it's a better deal right now until a couple years when vista will develop into a more solid OS. Also, I think since xp consumes less resources than vista, should I install xp with bootcamp. or should i install the latest windows vista with bootcamp?

i have recently had zone alarm with avira and had problems with my pc since installing hem both!
I have now got rid of both and just downloaded avg and just wondered will zone alarm be ok with this or should i stick with windows firewall?? or something else? thanks

I have a US bought a1310n hp computer with a 300 watt power supply. I want to go in for a Nvidia Geforce 8600GT graphics card. I do have a PCI Express Slot (x16) . I wanted to know that if i install that card (it requires 300 watt power supply) will it slow down the speed of my computer (like sometime stop writing a CD ... or something like that)

I have a packard bell imedia 1308 which has a sector of the disk set aside for xp recovery, would it be best to create a master copy of xp on dvd-r so i can recover the partition for xtra space. Or should I leave it be, not interfere? Ps The same goes for my laptop (o/s Vista Home Premium). Anyone with good advice please advise me!! Ta

My computer just started freaking out.

The little menu that pops on when you right click the mouse began flashing on and off even though I didn't click it.

The start menu at the bottom came on as well as the all programs part then flashed off then back on over and aver again. The screen was flashing and bouncing up and down.
It ended now but was really freaky.
And my mouse cursor keeps stopping in mid motion.

Any ideas to what is wrong?

Sometimes my software will block the pictures along with a warning to tell me of that risk and asks if I want to download them or not. Sometimes they are just smileys. Is that because some smileys have spyware?

I know that a lot of people will say Mac without question, but here's what I need.

I need a computer that I can listen to music on, one that I surf the web on, play games, do homework (I'm a college student with a Marketing Major).

I don't do video/audio/photo editing. Should I still spend more money on a Mac or just stick with PC's because I don't use the added goodies that Mac has.

Also, getting new software for the Mac will cost me a bundle, $150 for Office, $150 on games. I already have office for Windows and the games for Windows.

I have a normal display crt monitor and recently it's been turning into a pink hue and I can barely read what on it. I tried adjusting the contrast and controls but it's no use. Is it my monitor or my video card? I have no clue and it's bugging me. hope someone can help thank you

I was using my PC when suddenly it hanged me. I waited for few minutes but seems nothing happens. So i pressed RESET...but my nothing appears on my monitor. No beep sound. Fan is working and i only see yellow grren light blinking (monitor). I cleaned the Video card as well as the memory card but it didnt help. Please help what am i going to do? Thank you!!! ^_~

I have not been able to properly use the Wal-Mart.com site since Saturday night. Seems crazy to me that a company such as Wal-Mart would be having so much trouble with their site right before Christmas.

On Saturday, I could access the site but many pictures of product were not coming up. Now, I cannot access the site at all. All other sites are perfectly accessible.

And before you make fun of me shopping on Wal-Mart.com, I am looking for a bike for my son! LOL

Does anybody else have this problem like me?? Or what is it??
I have a cordless phone, and every time I answer someone's call, my WiFi connection on my laptop is getting lost. I have a wireless N router from a Netgear. It is very cheap compare to a leading brands like Linksys or D-link. Maybe because it was cheapest brand, it does not have stable signal or something? Any suggestions?

I have a computer that has had XP on it before, but the hard drive got so full that i couldn't run anything on it so i reformatted it and tried to reinstall XP and now it won't take it. Its been through everything in the setup and restarted but it doesn't go any further than that. Once it restarts it gives you the choices to run setup, run recovery, or exit. If you go to setup it reinstalls, restarts and i'm right back to the beginning. If i run recovery it goes do dos and i haven't the first clue what to do there. If I go to exit setup it tells me windows hasn't been entirely installed. The disk i'm using has been used multiple times so i know its still good. If i take it out it won't run at all. Please Help.

I've recently reformatted my laptop and I've found that the sound doesn't work. How can I fix this? However, Sticky Keys and Alerts (Errors) have there sounds when they occur. However, songs etc. don't work. The HP Pavilion dv2000 has built-in speakers but when I go to control panel and try to adjust the volume it says no speakers are connected. Additionally, when I connect my earphones it still doesn't work. Please Help!
