Hey everybody! I was thinking of getting an Apple computer or laptop but then i heard that you can't put Microsoft things on it so I was wondering, should i get an Apple laptop or a regular laptop? Thnx 4 everybody thats answerin this, and can you maybe give the pros and cons on the Apple Products?? By the way im a middle school student and i will be doing some assignments on this as well as things such as msn, facebook and all the other things teens do. Thanks! ☺

ok, I'm trying to write a program using the Little Man computer instructions, and I asked my prof how to divide two numbers using repeated division. he told me that you need to have a separate mailbox to store the quotient, and after each time you subtract the divisor from the dividend, you add 1 to the quotient's mailbox. but my question is...when you use the add instruction, doesn't the little man add that number onto the calculator? how can I add 1 to the mailbox itself to store the quotient after each subtraction?

In Firefox, whenever click a file and I have to choose what action to do with it, the icon corresponding to the file is the default blank icon file. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Every time that I try to open up a new document on my Microsoft Word Program instead of a blank page there is a picture automatically pasted on it. I have tried deleting it and everything. How can I get rid of the picture?

create a link to someone else's profile on myspace. The code i have which is this :
TEXTYOUWANTITTOSAYHERE puts the link in the upper right corner. If there is such a thing, I would like a code where when i put the url and such in it would stay in the who I'd like to meet section, and maybe even be able to use a html code for a picture instead of just text.

I am trying to use the gcc function but it doesn't work. I have CHECKED my program file and it's extension is .c. Everytime I type gcc samp.c -o samp.exe I get:
gcc: samp.c: no such file or directory
gcc: no input files
Do I need to save the samp.c in a specific directory?

In june, I took a long break, since August(in this time...never opened a c book or wrote a c program!) And I hated it after that...I felt like I lost someone I love! Now, if you do not practice a programming language for a while, do you forget?

When I log on myspace, only some of the people's pics are popping up but the rest of their pics aren't popping up. Does anybody know why ? Do you think there's something wrong with myspace and not just my computer? Because when I go to other sites pictures pop up but not when I'm on myspace.

i would like your opinion on these components please, i'll be using this PC for extream gameing.
also i'm a 3D modeller and animatior.
and if you think i could get something instead of any of these componets please recomend them, but i'm building this PC on a budget, so if you're recomending anything for a replacement of any of these, please make sure they are kind of at the same price.

i also need to know if 880W is enugh, too much or alright.

I have a Fujitsu Stylistic notebook computer, and the screen is fairly small....so I also have a larger monitor which I would like to use as the primary.

I have the two computers hooked together....how do I get the picture on my smaller computer onto the larger monitor? I want the same picture on BOTH monitors.

I have tried going into "Properties/Settings" on the Fujitsu monitor and don't seem to be able to use that....maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I just got a new NetGear wireless internet adapter for my laptop. When I set it up, I was picking up anywhere from 6-20% on my college's wireless network (from a couple miles down the road), but they were asking for a password. So, I called the girl at the computer center, and she told me a password, but I'm not sure I typed it in right.

Anyways, my question is: At what percent should I be able to use this network? How do I know it's not working because the percentage is too low? Could it be something else?

I have been using Nero 7 and all my burns kept failing around the last 3-4 songs. So I thought it was Nero so I am using Roxio 9 now and same problem. It just stopped progress at song 14/19.
I am using a Lite-On burner, it reads CDs/Dvds fine. I have 2GB 800mhz RAM OC'd , Dual Core 2.8Ghz processor. Any ideads or should I buy another DVD/CD burner. I hear lite-on's have nothing but problems...

If I only have a DVI input in the back of my computer is it possible to use a DVI to VGA adapter for the use of a VGA converter? What would be the easiest way to go about this?

I was looking at something like this, would it work with just a dvi port or would i need the dvi to vga adapter?
