Every time that I try to open up a new document on my Microsoft Word Program instead of a blank page there is a picture automatically pasted on it. I have tried deleting it and everything. How can I get rid of the picture?

Not a problem. We'll fix it by changing your Normal.dot template. Here's how (Note: This method differs from the previous answerer's method. It retains any customizations you've already made to your Normal.dot template.)

1.Close all open copies of Word.
2.Open Word.
3.Click on the File->Save As menu item.
4.In the "File of Type" list box, scroll down to Document Templates and select it. The directory should change and there should be a Normal.dot file in it. DON’T SAVE THE FILE. Press Cancel instead.
5.Click on the File->Open menu item.
6.Select Normal.dot.
7.Normal.dot should become your open document. Click the Format->Background->Printed Watermark menu item.
8. Click the No Watermark radio button.
9. OK out of everything.
10. Save the file with File->Save. You may get a warning message about the Global template having been changed. This is OK. Click Yes.
11.Close Word.

Word sometimes leaves the last directory used incorrectly set, so be careful the next time you open or save (especially!) a file that Word's pointed at the right place.

My first thought is that your base template has been set up with a watermark in the background.

Try going to the Format menu, then selecting >Background and then >Printed Watermark. Click the radial button that says "No Watermark". It's also possible that a picture has been placed there as a background image. If you don't see this in the Printed Watermark area, try >Format, >Background and then >Fill Effects. Check the last tab to see if there is a picture loaded there. If so, go back to >Format, >Background, and then click on "No Fill" from the top of the color palette.

If that takes care of the problem, then you should save this as your new base template. Click on >File, then >Save As. In the Document Type drop-down, choose Document Template (*.dot). Word should take you to the folder where the other templates are stored...Click on "Normal.dot". That should pull up this standard template each time you start a new file.
