Virtual Machines are technically not Operating Systems, they do allow you to run other common operating systems under the host OS.

There's no such thing as a "Virtual" OS, they are real. DistroWatch is a great Linux source, and Ubuntu is wild!

It is called Linux Kubuntu 7.10, and it is really good.

Download the one called PC (Intel x86) desktop CD, and burn it onto a cd, and then start up the computer with that cd in the cd drive, and it will install.
