Put in the Operating System disk (like Windows XP, it should have come with the computer) and follow the on-screen directions.

Read the laptop User Manual FIRST. Do not re-format until you do.
Make sure you have created your Recovery disks, then follow all the Recovery instructions.
Don't forget to "Back Up" all your personal data, the Recovery procedure deletes everything!!!
