Always treat every file as a virus infected one from P2P programs such as Limewire as you cant be too careful, some files pose as other file types to get you to feel safe and definitely avoid files with double extensions (.mp3.exe etc) as these are guaranteed viruses.

Music is safer to download but anything else such as programs that say things like "free games" or "full products" and your dicing with your computers life so to speak. Always use an up to date Antivirus and firewall at all times

look if you use limewire and download only music like mp3's
you will not get a virus, the reason why so many stupid people
cry about limewire giving them viruses is because they
download games and cracked programs which are executable
files , which most have viruses . my advice only download
songs and movies and stay away from zip files and games
and you wont get a virus. I have used limewire for 2 years
and have never gotten a virus due to common sense.

Downloading files from P2P sites is inherently dangerous in and of itself...

It's not the responsibility of the P2P site to keep you safe from downloading malicious files.

You need to 'virus scan' every file you download and declare it safe to use BEFORE you open it.

It is every computer user's responsibility to keep their own computer safe and free from infection.

Hope this helps.

Use protection,
your computer will thank you.
