I'm a college student and I'm probably going to make the transition to a Mac. I heard about the Bootcamp feature on the new Leopard and I was wondering if I should install windows xp or windows vista? i think since xp is already solid with updates and security packs, it's a better deal right now until a couple years when vista will develop into a more solid OS. Also, I think since xp consumes less resources than vista, should I install xp with bootcamp. or should i install the latest windows vista with bootcamp?

I agree with you!
A new flashy OS is the only reason why Vista is so popular, but XP does have the security and updates that you may wont in the long run.
You practically made your own decision already, if you want security then Vista might not be the way to go.

Go with Windows XP. Vista has some issues to be fixed.

XP and use VMware so that you can use XP and OSX together rather than having to boot up in one or the other.

I have Parallels installed but rarely use XP Pro.

XP is way more predictable, but you'll need a full version, "Upgrade" CDs won't work.

Vista has "issues".
