My problem is this:

Often after i use my wired mouse for a few months, it "breaks".

I think i'm not taking care of properly; but i don't know how to.

When it "breaks", the cursor no longer responds to the external mouse unless the wire is bent at an angle. As it is an optical mouse, i see it blinking for a few times then the computer goes "USB Device Not Recognized", etc.

Why does the mouse "break" and how/why does it happen?
If so, how do I properly take care of the mouse to prolong its lifespan.

P.S. i use a laptop so i prefer working with an external mouse as they are easier to use than the touchpad mouse. Furthermore, i find wireless mice difficult to use as they are 2 pieces (USB thingy + Mouse) and the constant changing of a battery (when the mouse runs out of battery while playing a game, your game goes chaotic)

I recently installed windows xp on my dell 1501 notebook instead of the vista that it came with but now it's not displaying my processor speed as 1.8ghz, its saying 789. I'm not sure if its actually running at 789 or what the problem is but I'd like to change it.

I bought a belt buckle on Ebay and when I recieved it, it was a different belt buckle than what I had ordered. He said to send it back and he would send the right one out when he got the wrong one back. What should I do? I mean why should I have to pay to have it shipped back to him. I already paid enough money to purchase it and have it shipped... This is my first Ebay transaction that has gone wrong. What am I suppose to do? Thanks.

Since approx 1 year ago my 3 year old desktop computer has been very slow and seems to be overworking (tremendously). I have ran virus software, disk cleanup, defragmenter and everything I know to do but it doesn't help. It also has a lot of disk space available so it can't be the memory. What can be the problem?

I am unable to do anything in my File Manager. I can't delete files, I am unable to edit html and save editing.
I get the message "we've encountered an error...1. Please check and make sure you have typed correctly. This error has been recorded so that we can check into any problems. If you continue to get this error, please try again later. If you need help, please visit our help area."
I waited several hours and still have this problem.

I'm using Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and keep a graph that has membership (number) on the y-axis vs date (ie 10/20/2007) on the x-axis. My question is how I can get the graph to automatically read the current date and change (increase) the maximum value on the x-axis to become whatever the current date is. I'm not *that* experienced with Macros but if that's what I need to do then let me know. Thanks in advance.

I've been using it for a while now & it's still working fine. but everytime i close it & after being closed, an error message pops up. name of that error window is "iexplore.exe - Application Error" with this message:
The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812a5b.

After I click "Ok" on that message, another error message appears saying:
Runtim error 217 at 03FEAEA

so what's really the problem? this happens everytime i close my internet window...really bugs me

I just removed the MS32DLL malware on my computer n here's the problem.

I have 2 IP addresses, let me say I 201.123.1.x and 201.123.2.x . Then I have 9 medium rooms with about 24 computers. My big bro wants me to make the networks in each room independent from each other through subnetting.

I have a wireless printer and a wireless router and two laptops with wireless NICs, but I also have one desktop hard wired to the wireless router. Is it possible for the desktop to print through the router to the printer or does the desktop need a wireless network card installed like the two notebooks? If anyone has tried this please let me know if its possible because there is no reason physically why it shouldn't work.

I have an image but I want the location. I know it's far fetched, but I was watching some show and it gave me the idea when they used satellite imaging to find similar locations to another satellite picture--if that makes sense. Basically, a picture taken from a satellite was compared to the landscape pictures taken by other satellites in order to find the location of the original.

I have been hearing that the 8900 or 9 series will be released in november. Want to buy my stuff to upgrade my pc in novmber but wanted to know a date it will be releaded. would it be nov 1st? If so for example a geforce 8800 gtx cost $550 and geforce 8800 gts $400, how much in money do you think the cards would go down and how fast, would it take months, days, or the RELEASE day of the 9 series to see a big or little price drop. Want to get the geforce 8800 gtx but right now is a bit to much, thx for the help.
