This error message can be the result of a couple of things, not sure if any of them pertain to your installation:

(1) If you have Adobe Shockwave installed try uninstalling it and then re-installing it with the latest version from Adobe's site. You can also test this by disabling Shockwave from the "manage add-ons" menu within IE.

(2) Norton Anti-virus products are also known to cause this error. Again try a removal and an installation.

(3) If you have Windows Desktop Search (WDS) enabled try disabling it.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific, hope this helps. Good luck!

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

You will have to reinstall Windows Internet Explorer 7. Run a full system scan before reinstalling.

Corrupted. It needs to be reinstalled. visit support.microsoft.com. You will probably need to uninstall it, restart your computer, then download it again.
