I just got my ASUS M2R32-MVP motherboard today and I installed everything off the disk that came with it, but whenever I try to install the sound driver, it says the hardware isn't available, but I know it's there because it's built right into the motherboard. What do I need to do to get the sound working?

Can an LCD computer monitor be calibrated? I had a Spyder Pro2 and went through the whole process three times. Each time, everything turned a not so lovely shade of blue. I gave up and sold the Spyder on eBay. I have since read that you can't really calibrate an LCD monitor.

What's your experience with this?

Thanks.

I recently travelled from KUL-TPE-LAX-MCO
KUL - 1x Xray; TPE another Xray, LAX another Xray. So, my
two SATA disks and my motherboard got xrayed 3x. My notebook also. My notebook works fine. I assembled my system just now, both of my hard disk are not recognized by my motherboard. It does not exist as far as the motherboard concern. Is it that my SATA disks are now wiped out?

I bought a dorm on there, but I don't have any idea how to get my friends to come in. I can't invite some of them because most of my friends dont have the buton underneath that says "invite to your location" or whatever. The friends that do have that button are the friends I don't really care to talk to. How in the heck do I get my friends to come inside my dorm. I already know about the whole pubic and private setting and that still doesn't explain to me why my friends can't see my room. Can you tell me please how to do this because it's making me very angry.

i just bought a Viewsonic vx2235wm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824116059 and when i play videos(retail dvd's in my dvdrom, downloaded .avi's(xvid/divx), winamp shoutcast tv streaming) it is very blocky but when i play games the picture looks great.

any info explaining why the picture is blocky when playing movies/tv shows would be greatly appreciated. I am using the provided DVI cable it came with. would i get a better picture with a dvi-d cable over the monitors provided dvi cable?

(i do have the latest video drivers and latest k-lite codec pack)

THX!

So I went to Circuit City to buy a new Memory RAM and I asked the guy that I needed PC2700 DDR but he gave me PC3200 DDR. I asked if this would work on my computer, and he told me yes. Now it goes in good, but the clips wont click.

About 2 yrs ago I bought a Compaq SR1550NX, 1 Gb Ram, 200 Gb SATA HD, with an Athlon 64 3400+ 2.4 Ghz. Since I wanted to work with graphics and play some games I hooked it up to a 19 in Viewsonic and slapped an ATI X800XL AGP onto the MB as well as another SATA 250 GB for storage. The whole thing was running under Win XP SP2 more or less flawlessly.

Due to an XP problem I decided to restore the system with factory provided DVDs, but am now experiencing problems with the video card, this leads me to believe that was the problem all along. The card works and I am convinced it is a driver problem but the ATI "customer service" guy in New Delhi is reading from a script and is of no help whatsoever. So I am thinking of buying another video card. (NOT ATI).

Does anyone know of an AGP video card of $200 or less that is capable of recording video, i.e. I can plug in a VCR into it like I can do with my current card. And I do not want to get an additional device like Dazzle or Video Xpress.

I bought a Windows XP Home Full disc from Office Depot for $169 about a year ago. Since then, I've reinstalled Windows about six times on three different computers with only one failed activation. (I had a successful one today!) On that one failed activation, I was stupid enough to tell the MS support official that I installed it over three computers, and he didn't give me the code. The strange thing is, this Office Depot CD was 1-user and should've activated only once. These three computers always validate successfully as well. Am I lucky or what!?!

Additionally, I've restored Windows a bunch of times with the restore CDs that come with the computer. Each time, I need to uninstall crapware, but Windows is already activated. It also validates successfully. I was wondering, if I created full volume ISO DVDs with a disk imaging software like Acronis True Image 11 for each of my three computers, would I have free XP Home reinstallations for life?

Whenever I open a movie with VLC player this error message comes up (cant remember what it says, and i accidently checked the 'Don't show this message again' box before i closed it). Before I checked this box, I usually just dismissed this error message (clicked the 'dismiss' button).

So now to see if anything's wrong I open 'messages' in VLC, and it has this:
main debug: removing module ..... blah blah blah
main debug: killing decoder.... blah blah
etc
and the following are highlighted in yellow:
main warning: PTS is out of range (bunch of numbers here), dropping buffer

is this a bug??

i download a file a few days ago that said that i had to download w3player or something to open the file, i downloaded it but it didnt work, then i read on Yahoo Answers that there was no such thing as a w3player and that it was a trojan? that it was spyware. What does this mean?
I deleted this w3player.
Did I infect my Mac with w3player?
Is it causing VLC to behave like this?

What do I do now?

Hi, I am stuck in a rut.

Should I get a glossy or matte display? I really have no preference, I am trying to base my decision on the mean of everyone's choices. I know this is idiotic, but I have no choice.

If you could give me a a
matte
glossy

that would be great. :)

THANK YOU!
