Me came out in 2000
and no it is no good.... if you want to save money and have the best operating system, better than Windows Vista Ultimate then move to Linux... it is more secure and safer
There are several versions of Linux that would be good for your IBM Thinkpad, you will have no problems running Linux plus you will get all the software you will ever need.... All free.. to download...

Windows ME was the worst operating system to come out by Microsoft. The best thing you can do is "format: C." Windows 2000 or XP would be better.

You can operate your computer with windows ME no issues. However we recommend you to upgrade it to atleast XP as Windows ME is outdated now a days.

Windows ME is the evil hell-spawn of Satan himself, thrusted into this realm through a fissure between Earth and hell itself.
Get rid of it while you can. It was a rushed out product released for the new millenium. It is a terrible operating system that had support dropped for it by Microsoft in record time.

It was 2000 and it is way out ofasate. It will not last that long. You should bought a Xp or Vista. It would've been worth it in the long run.

No me is 2000 and and it is the dreaded try and see if u can upgrade it to windows 2000 that is the only supported

ME was the stopgap step before XP. If you get more memory the laptop might support XP.
You also might be able to revert to Win98se, which has quite stable.

windos me=Milenium edition
made in 2000 if i'm not wrong. it's nothing if you compare with xp, but it's a little better than windows 98
