I have an issue with a Windows Server 2000 (SP4) machine. The Com Plus Event System Service is not starting at startup. According to the event logs It is getting stuck in "starting" mode ant then failing.

How do I reinstall this service or otherwise fix the issue?

Okay, let me see if I can explain exactly what I am trying to do here. I have 2 laptop computers. One has Windows XP and the other I just purchased yesterday is running Windows Vista. I have a wireless router that they are both connected to. I want to be able to share music between the two computers and I know that it can be done. Keep in mind when you answer that I know nothing about networking and I need the most detailed information you can give me on how to do this. (Don't just tell me what to do... tell me how to do it). I'm using Dell inspiron 8200, I can hear the sound with using an external speker but without the ext. speker I can not hear any sound from pc speaker. What is the solution on this matter? Please come forward with a helping a hand. Thanks

i have a road runner cable, it says it has 5mbps but i feel like it only has 1.5 to 4mbps depends to daytime or nightime. road runner is pretty unstable in ny, i decided to get fios but it's not available for the place i live, so i'm getting a verizon DSL which is 3mbps, i just wanna know if the dsl is more stable than road runner?

okay i just got a new laptop: here is what it says about the wireless interent:

MODEM: v.90 56K fax modem
Dial up right out of the box.
ETHERNET CARD: YES
If you have High Speed DSL or CABLE modem, with the built in 10/100 Ethernet port you'll be surfing the net right out of the box.

heres the deal, im using my old laptop to type this. i have a wireless card in here, however, i want to take that card and put it in my new laptop, but i cant get it to work. i dont have the disc for the wireless card. my firs question is this: do i need a wireless card for this laptop since it has a built in ethernet port? i cant find out how to connect to the internet. second, if i want to use my wireless card, how can i get the drivers. i downloaded them from online to a usb stick and then tried opening them in my new laptop, but i cant get a program to open them with. basically how do u suggest i go about gettin connected online. all help is appreciated. thanks.

I have a new WHR-G54S router. I got everything set-up just fine and everything was working perfectly-but then all the router info on my computer seemed to disappear. The wireless connection was lost, and all of the settings disappeared completely on my desktop. It's as if I never set up the router at all. I've been through this 3-4 times now. I've called Buffalo Tech Support, but have been unable to get through to anyone. Does anyone know what is causing this problem and how to fix it? I'm running XP on the desktop that the router is connected to.

I have a vaio TZ190.(u7600, 1.2ghz duo, 2gb ram, 226 shared video memory) and I really want to play diablo 1, half life, warcraft 3, command and conquer red alert, and such.

I really dont care about all those new games that you need a HUGE laptop to be able to play.... I prefer the old games.

When I download some music from Limewire, it wont play on my Windows Media Player. I get this message "Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted." This only happens to some of the music i download. Is there some where else on my PC that I have to go and retrieve these downloads in order for them to play? How can I remedy this problem?
