I have a new WHR-G54S router. I got everything set-up just fine and everything was working perfectly-but then all the router info on my computer seemed to disappear. The wireless connection was lost, and all of the settings disappeared completely on my desktop. It's as if I never set up the router at all. I've been through this 3-4 times now. I've called Buffalo Tech Support, but have been unable to get through to anyone. Does anyone know what is causing this problem and how to fix it? I'm running XP on the desktop that the router is connected to.

I have reconfigured about 3 times. I also have up-to-date Symantec anti virus as well as Ad-aware and Spybot. I doubt it's a virus or malware.

This usually isn't malware.
First of all, turn off the PC and unplug your wireless router and DSL/Cable modem for 2 minutes.
Turn on the DSL/Cable modem 1st, router 2nd, and PC 3rd.
Then, after that:
The best way to check is to temporarily plug into the router directly with an Ethernet cable from the affected PC. If you can connect, then it isn't malware.
If you can, try to wirelessly connect from other PCs/laptops to see if it is just that PC.
If that doesn't work, then reset the router then reconfigure it.

sounds like your computer has a virus or other malware

set a restore point as soon as you have the thing up and running.

then go looking for your virus or other problem malware.

the restore point is so that you can recover it quickly after you exorcise your computer's demon.
