I'm going to be a sophomore in high school this year and I really want my own desktop. I don't know anything about buying a computer. I'm looking for something under $1000, preferably under $700. I just would do stuff on it like homework/school projects, surf the net, download music, instant message, watch DVD's and maybe play a few games. But I'm not a major gamer or anything. I also do not want to get a mac. So what kind of computer should I get? And it would be really helpful if you could include a link. Thanks!

My computer has been having many problems. I've been getting pop-up's constently by Outerinfo and ad.oinadserver.com. My computer has been running VERY SLOW. And there's constent noises from my PC. Oh and somthing always pop-ups saying Server Busy.... I have a hp pavillion a705w. How can I fix this so I won't get these constent problems and my computer can run smoothly. I think my computer is infected by Spyware.. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

It's for a store and we'll probably hook it up to a regular desktop. I'm looking for one that you would be able to view from home via DSL. In addition, a program that would save the video onto the desktop at the store, with the date and time. And would only activate when it detects motion.

I've asked a couple questions concerning internet service in the apartment I live in. My apartment provides internet by a company that I refuse to do business with. My phone and cable (TV) provider are the same company. If it is possible for me to get internet without using the service offered, please let me know. My computer/networking know-how is pretty basic and I don't understand a lot of technical jargon so you'll have to break it down for me.

I use dialup and I make voip calls every once in a while, the first few minutes, quality is pretty good, but then various applications including windows processes start hogging the bandwidth for updates, etc and the connection drops. Is there an application or a way out there that I can block internet access to all applications except a specific application such as the voip software I'm using? Thanks.

I have a Radeon X300 Graphics Card in my HP Media Center m7170n Computer. The Computer is 3 years old. I have an Intel Pentium 830 D Processor Dual Core and 2 GB Ram. I know the Graphics Card is not very good but like to buy a 24 inch Monitor with a Resolution of 1920x1200. Would my Graphics card be good enough to get the most benefit out of the monitor?
