I'm thinking of buying wi-fi for my laptop computer. Is it possible to buy a wireless internet connection though say a cell phone company such as t-mobile or verizon and use it through them? Setting cost aside, how would that work in terms of hardware? I've heard that you need to put a card or something in your laptop in order for it to connect. Does it connect via satellite? Would I be able to use in wherever I go, or only at certain hot spots determined by the company?

My friend and I use "Allpeers" to swap files. I use itunes, he doesn't (his mp3 player uses Windows media player). I have no problem dragging and dropping files into Itunes, but when reversed, he says they're in m4a format. What's the easiest way to resolve this? Also, if anyone is familiar with Allpeers, I have a problem placing an entire album as one folder when uploading. When I download an album, I have the option of downloading an entire ablum. You then drag and drop into itunes and it sets up automatically (itunes arranges everything into the correct order, album name, etc) But I don't know how to upload in this fashion. The only way I know how to do this is to highlight several songs and drag them into the Allpeers' upload folder. Any insight?

I have to download some data from web pages. The web page asked for three entries(i.e. from date, to date and type) after typing these results I have to press the submit button. Then I can get the data. But I have to download some hundreds of data from web pages. I cannot enter every time these details. How to automate this task? Is there any software or program
available to do this task? Please help me.

I Looked on the internet and in encyclopedia's and they say that a pc is a personal computer that is meant for home use and that runs on Windows, Mac OS, or Linux and is at a feasable price

So it basically states a Mac is a pc, any home computer is a pc then why do people say mac vs pc

My old computer was destroyed in a car accident, but I still have my ipod with the near 1000 songs from my computer. I can't put the songs on my new computer because Itunes won't allow it. Is there anyway I can get around this? Most of the songs are from CD's anyways, I just want to put more music on my Ipod, but I can't without having Itunes delete all of my other songs because it wont allow for the songs to be added on the ipod. Help!

I wanted to know which graphics card is better. E-vga GeForce 8600 GTS 256 MB DDR3 ---or--- ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256 MB DDR3. They both have dual DVI but the 8600 GTS has Direct X 10.

I prefer the scroll down thingy in the middle of my mouse. Just wanted to ask a question on a much lighter subject than my last question and this came to mind. Sometimes when I use it though when previewing a question here, it scrolls my question into the wrong category. Know what I mean? What the heck, it's easy points for you!

I have one computer which is connected to broadband internet and another which is connected to this computer via an rj45 cable, both the host pc and the client can connect to the internet via a home network shared connection.
Is it possible to plug another computer into a second network card on the 'client' (second) pc using another rj45 cable and will the third pc be able to access the internet? or do I need to buy a hub or router?
All three pc's are currently networked and all can see each other, however the third pc cannot access the internet. Is it possible to networ like this?

secondary hard disk, has data on it, need the data. put the disk in my secondary caddy, am told that disk management can see it.

took it home, put it in my hard drive caddy, cant se the drive. any ideas? i need the data on this disk and $260 to start at geek squad is ridiculous.

I just bought this motherboard. I'm a budget gamer and i am from Curacao.
So could anybody help me.It has a PCI express but itis a low class mobo for me i think.
Mobo specs are:
Processor: Intel core 2 duo 6600

I have a 15 year old desktop computer [running Windows 3.1] laying around. It had two hard drives in it - 1.0 GB and .5GB. I'd like to get the data off, but I'm not sure how.

I've tried plugging the drives into a modern system [running Windows XP] to just copy the files, but the computer won't recognize the drives. Unfortunately, the floppy drive on the old system is broken. Even if it weren't broken, none of our modern computers have floppy drives, so using floppies appears to be out of the question.

Is there some way to make an XP system recognize the old drives or are they just too old? Are there any other options you can think of?
