I have set up xp, apache 2.2, mysql and php. I use the combo to develop web apps and then put them on a server somewhere else. Now I want to actually deploy a web app online using said setup. I have made all of the necessary adjustments on my router (port triggering) and even tried putting the computer in the DMZ. I've completely turned off the firewall (last two for troubleshooting purposes). As far as I can tell nothing with my machine or the network should prevent users from being able to type in my ip address and view a directory listing - but they can't. So then I think the problem resides in some sort of setting in the httpd.conf file in apache - but that is greek to me (just barely able to get it setup well enough for development). Could this part be causing the problem?

If so what should it be, if not what else might it be? Are they any good configuration setup GUIs for apache?

I'm,

Amazed, 2 days ago, my speed is triple what it used to be. I have Bellsouth DSL and now it is fast, what could have caused it? It happened after I cleaned my PC with Norton and Ad-Aware (Note- I didn't have any really big viruses or anything) Or could it have been from the company itself?

I am planning on making a journal out of Word documents or something, and I want to password-protect the folder in case my bro gets a hold of my computer, and I don't want him to read all my journals. Is it possible to password-protect a folder?
I was going to make a blog, but I realized that everyone on the web can read it if they can find it. Blogging a journal is not an option.

The guy who fixes my computer deleted ALL of my songs and videos on iTunes!! They are still on my iPod, but if i want a new song or something, i will plug it into the computer and iTunes will update it. And if theres nothing on iTunes, when it updates it nothing at all will be on my iPod. I dont think he can get them back. Do you think that he owes me money? I know he does but my mom says he wont give it to me and my sister.

If power consumption is not a criteria, i.e. if one can afford it, is it better to keep the PC (not the Monitor) ON all the time even if it's not being used ? Does it provide better thermal stability of all the components in the cabinet by keeping the power ON, instead of switching on / off as and when required ? If it's advisable to keep the PC ON all the time - is it suggestive for all weather conditions ? If not, upto which temperature is it OK ?

I don't have Outlook anymore so I am looking for a similar calendar / To-Do-List / Organiser / Tasks with reminder notifications etc that is accessible from the Taskbar and and Desktop to have quick any easy access to add dates, meeting, notes etc. Can anyone suggest a FREE software download. Gimmicks, extra photos and all the stuff is not required. Just a simple to use basic program.
