Not all the time, and I can't figure out why some do and some don't. Part two, I can't delete them while I am in the "select a picture' mode. So I can't get rid of them. (in that area)

OK Clarify When I go into, properties-desktop-background.
Listed in the background choices are pictures, and even documents, I scanned into my computer.They are placed automatically as a background choice and I can't get them out

why cant you look at the display properties by right cliking on your desktop, then select desktop - slide the scroll bar and place it to "none".try this.in fact i am unable to understand your problem clearly as you have not given any other detail ablut your p.c
