Windows 286, about 1988 or 89. I still have the install disks from it (two of them, 720k each). It was built to run on the Intel 80286 chip (16bit, no enhanced mode). When Intel introduced the 80386, with enhanced mode, Windows386 was introduced. This was quickly followed by Windows 3.0 and then 3.1 (the latter being '92).

windows 1.0. the first microsoft operating system was dos, which they stole from a small computer company. it was called qdos (quick dirt os) from the company n microsoft renamed it dos.
