I had a question about the 160gb hard drives and 2gb of memorey apple uses in there macbooks. Does any body know the exaxt brands they use???

well it differs. the only thing that matters is the type.

Jake said it, that there could be several OEMs making the modules for them. Apple tends to use Samsung memory more than others, though. The HD is anybody's guess. I've seen Seagate, Hitachi and everybody else in Apples. If you're buying more RAM, I always use www.macsales.com, as they guarantee compatibility.

Any brand of hard drive and memory will work, if all you are doing is looking to replace or upgrade yours. Hard drives and memory are not tied to the Mac OS like the optical drives are.

as long as you know the type is supports, the brand is not so important.

it's probably maxtor / seagate / hitchachi (ibm sold their hard drive business to them).
or ibm brand

ironic if its ibm though.hehe =)

i think they go for SATA seagate for hard drive's
and the 2gb of ram is trancend !
