Also, is it legal in the day, but not at night? It's dark out, and we forgot to put the gas cap on, and left it at the top of the car. We drove off, and it fell off the car on the freeway onramp. We stopped near the end, reversed almost to the beginning, with the blinkers on. Is that legal?

We're having a big family dispute. Any webites with evidence would be helpful.

Do anybody besides me read the article that said that SUV's kill 10,000 + Americans a year due to rollover accidents ,that those 10,000+ deaths represent 1/3 of all US traffic deaths despite the fact that SUV accident represent only 3% of all traffic accidents. That's an 11:1 ratio
Having driven the 3-D roads of the West and seen the deadly handling characteristics of SUV's up close, I have no doubt that many of those fatal accidents were single vehicle accidents caused by the vehicle.
I also have no doubt that many of those rollover accidents and near accidents that didn't result in fatalities scared the crap out of a lot of drivers.
Where is the public outrage ? Where are all the letter to our Congressmen demanding that we get these death machines of our roads NOW!!
Where's Ralph Nader when we actually need him ?
WTF is wrong with us ?
Thanks for what I'm sure will be nice answers

your driving along a quite country lane in your car, a motorists comes up behind and overtakes at say 100mph and shoots off down the road out of site, you go further up the road and hes stuck behind traffic lights or at a roundabout, youve caught up and so hes got nowhere any quicker.

ive seen this happen when ive been overtaken and got up the road around the corner and the car has been wrapped around a tree or lamp post when a car or tractor pulled out on him.

Last week I was in a terrible car crash with my Mum. I am 23 and passed my test 1 year ago but I have rarely driven since then. My Mum thought it would be a good idea to go out and get some experience, and the first few times were very successful, but when we were on a motorway I lost control of the car and we were both lucky to come out alive.
I feel like I've lost all my confidence again and find it hard to face getting back into a car.
Any advice?
Thanks.

I've heard that text-messaging while driving would cause fatal results, so I'm considering two examples of such news reports of text-messaging fatalities that I've heard:

1.) In Fairport, N.Y., five teenage girls died when their SUV slammed head-on into a tractor-trailer. Investigators looking into the crash have found that text messages were sent back and forth from the driver's cell phone just moments before the crash.
2.) While he was text-messaging, Patrick Sims slammed and killed bicyclist Jim Price, a father of two.

I looked at an issue of "People" magazine and came up with the two examples of text-messaging fatalities that moved me. My sympathetic condolences go to the victims caused by the accidents. In my opinion, text-messaging while driving should be illegal by law, and it should apply not only teenagers but to adults as well.

What do you think? Should text-messaging while driving be illegal by law? What kinds of penalties should we give for breaking it?

My hypothesis is that, although it is well-known that side-impact accidents are often serious accidents, the
RATE of accidents that are actually side-impact is very low. Why? Because almost all of the time, the cars involved are going in the same direction, which usually creates a rear-end collision, or they are going in the opposite directions, which creates a front-end or glancing collision. So, aside from the multibillion dollar industry in selling people airbags that are not necessary, what is the real, actual percentage of accidents that are side collisions?

i think there would be many less accidents if people were more concerned with PREVENTING them than in worrying about who is, or was, at fault.
If you Prevent an acident, no one is at fault, because nothing happened. Right?

I was in right most lanes driving at 5 miles above speed limit. Although rest of the traffic in left lanes was faster than me I was caught. Police officer never showed me the radar speed to me but randomly wrote as approx speed limit as 10 miles above the speed limit (when I was actually only 5 above) and has not indicated any speed under radar speed on citation.

I think this is more of random thing in my case when other cars were faster than me. I would like to challenge and seek help. Any advice greatly appreciated

Thanks
