I am in the process of buying a car,and I plan to do a lot of highway driving in it.Several years ago, I had the problem that I had the wrong tires on the car that I had then, and then kept blowing out on the highway. What do I need to know when purchasing tires for my car, knowing that I am going to spend a lot of time driving on the highway?

Problem solved by the tire industry rating system treadwear tempature and traction all on the side wall now. Higher # trear wear the longer lasting then A temp and A traction would be what I would look for. I use The Tire Rack. GO on-line and learn tirerack.com

IF YOU ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BUYING A NEW CAR THEN JUST STAY WITH WHAT COMES ON THE VEHICLE.

THESE TIRES ARE RATED FOR THE VEHICLE AND ITS LOAD.

I HAVE SEEN MANY OEM TIRES BLOW BUT IT WAS DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE OWNER HAD THE VEHICLE OVERLOADED.

IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO BY A USED VEHICLE I CAN SEE YOUR CONCERN BUT AGAIN LOOK AT WHAT THE MANUFACTURE STATES IN THE OWNERS MANUAL IF AVAILABLE AND IF NOT JUST CONTACT THE MANUFACTURE.

IF YOU ARE OVERLOADING THE VEHICLE ON A REGULAR BASIS THEN THIS WILL BE PUTTING A STRAIN BOTH ON THE TIRES AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE VEHICLE.

IF YOU ARE NOT OVERLOADING THE VEHICLE LOOK AT THESE TIRES, THEY ARE ONE OF THE BEST THAT I HAVE SEEN AND USED.
