I'm trying to get my permit, but do i have go to the drivers ed class, then take the test before i can get my permit, or can i just take the test and get it?

Well, every state has it's own set of rules. But for the most part, you need the permit to complete the driver's ed class. You can't sit behind the wheel of a car, even with the instructor, and be moving down the road without your learnering permit!

I always thought you had to have the permit before the drivers ed class but I have found that many classes do not include actual driving but the DMV for the State requires the class first. Go to the DMV site for your State and check what it says.

No you don`t. You take drivers ed. classes when you`re ready to get your license. Depends on where you live you don`t have to take any classes a relative or a friend can teach you how to drive.

Hi;Well you can go and try to get it.Put don,t you want to get it right the first time by having the right answers and a little expierence first.Are you worried about the cost?If thats what it is your going to have to buy gas and a lot of other stuff too.So a little cost for knoledge goes a long way.OK Do it right.Good Luck.....JW
