The dealer stated that the part was bad upon manufacture. I was lucky in that the axle broke while I was entering a parkway at a slow speed. What could have happened had this part snapped at a higher speed? The dealer is downplaying this as a safety concern. Should I be worried?

I just read that the Mexican truck drivers, now allowed to go anywhere in the US are upset that they will have to be able to speak and understand english. This seems safe to me. Why are they upset? US drivers in Mexico will have to speak Spanish, and no one in the US is upset over that.

In the UK and western Europe speedometers over read your speed by about 10%, but when I was in Canada I noticed the speed seemed to be very accurate. Was this just the car I was in or is this standard practice?

This really gets my hackles raised up. There I am crossing the road when the little green man flashes on the traffic lights content in the knowledge that all the cars are waiting patiently, when all of a sudden a stupid bicycle comes whizzing past, literally missing my ear by about a quarter of an inch.
Now I think to myself 'If all the cars have to stop, surely bikes must stop aswell?'
But no, obviously not. All the bikes seem to just cruise through the red traffic lights regardless of what traffic is coming or who is crossing the road. I know this is totally illegal in the UK, but is it the same in NZ?

can go completely flat overnight

ie:the seating compartment light
has 3 settings ON /OFF/AUTO ON ~lights when doors open

i switched it onto what i thought was the off position
and no light illuminated when i opened the door
but there is a slight bad connection there and sometimes
it flickers on and off or it can take a few punches to the light casing to get it to work!
if i switched it ON instead of OFF but no light illuminated all night would that still drain the battery ?

I use my car horn when I see somebody about to do something really dumb, such as pull out in front of me, sideswipe me, etc, and I want to call attention to it. Today, somebody tried to pull out in front of me while I was going 30 mph (the speed limit), and of course I screeched tbe horn as an alert. My boyfriend, who was riding with me, yelled at me for using the horn, calling it "uncivilized", saying I would get just as much of an effect if I were to stop, and stare the offending driver down. Let's solve this debate, yahoo answerers.... what are your opinions on this matter?

cliff with lots of turns and was literally blinded by sunlight!I remember reading to focus on the outer/right white line and all I could see was a foot of that...wouldn't be a big deal but I had 2 cars behind me.I had to stop and thank god I didn't get rear-ended cuz she'd been on my a_ _.My sunglasses are cheap and obviously worthless.Does any1 know of some that are dark enough for that crap yet not too dark otherwise because anything dark enough to withstand that light won't work in normal circumstances.Any1 heard of Transition sunglasses that supposedly shift accordingly? How much are they? What are the odds of that (TOTAL blindness)ever happening again because it had never happened but now I'm totally freaked out?!Please tell me this won't happen again.

Earlier today there was this van that was cutting across the parking lot and he almost hit me. I was going the right way, and didn't go up the aisle until the up arrow. I could see on the guy's face that he was mad at me for following the arrows and what not.

But why do people do this? I see it all the time. Do they not care if someone is going the right way and they hit?

A taxi passenger tapped the driver on the shoulder to ask him a question. The driver screamed, lost control of the car, nearly hit a bus, went up on the footpath, and stopped centimetres from a shop window. For a second everything went quiet in the cab, then the driver said, "Look mate, don't ever do that again. You scared the daylights out of me!"

The passenger apologized and said, "I didn't realize that a little tap would scare you so much." The driver replied, "Sorry, it's not really your fault. Today is my first day as a cab driver - I've been driving a funeral van for the last 25 years.

I'm 16 and I have my drivers permit and my mom says I'm a pretty good driver. So, yesterday my dad wanted to take me driving, but the second we get in the car, he tells me he expects me to be an awful driver and get in an accident! I asked him why and he just says because he knows. So then I was really pissed off and nervous but I start driving and because of my nerves, I forget to signal early enough for a turn. Now my dad gets really pissed off and starts SCREAMING at me! Like why would you scream at a new driver while theyre trying to drive?? So it just escalated from there and he wouldnt stop screaming so I kept screwing up and now I'm completely traumatized and I never want to drive again. I dont know what to do!
