We all know that seat belts save lives when a car crashes and the seatbelt saves you from flying out the window. But how do they work?

How does it recognize that you're stopping suddenly and almost instantaneously locks itself to stop you from flying forward?

My car was towed away on Friday as I had parked ajacent to a drop in the pavement, something which I see all the time in London. I am happy to pay a parking ticket, but the tow fee was £150. Someon said there has to be an hour time period between issuing a ticket and towing your car away. Is this true???

It would make it alot easier to get into a gas station. Like the older cars were all in the rear. Makes sense to me. Any reasons why not all on same side?

there are 2 cars on the road....just 2...NO ONE else around and lets say you are going 45 mph in the right lane and the other car is going 47 mph in the left late, and that car will speed up to get in front of you then make a right turn into a store! I dont get that....why did they just get right behind me? Instead they make me hit my brakes!

Please tell me this happens to other people and not just me????

It is winter in london.
every morning i have to suffer with a fogged windscreen as soon as i put the heater. t
he only way out is for me to put the heater and airconditioner on. that clears the fogging ...but defeats the purpose of putting the heating on in the first place.
i direct all my heating to the windscreen but even that doesn't help.

What is more important to you - a smooth, comfortable ride.... Or, a less comfortable ride with better traction in the rain?

The majority of my driving is on dry roads. So, a cushy ride is definately appreciated. However, I am a very nervous driver in the rain & I am scared of hydroplaning. So, is it better to sacrifice some comfort on the dry roads in order to have better grip on the wet roads?
