My boyfriend drives a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner that has perfectly functioning antilock brakes but he does not like them and how they react driving in rain or snow. He actually feels unsafe and less able to manuever his truck in some situations. He gets pulsating sensations and the pedal sticks which he has heard is normal from friends who have ABS. Is there a fuse or switch or wire to cut to just have normal old brakes? He really loves his truck except for this. Please help! Thank You.

In hills several times isolated moving vehicles crash down into valleys without anyone coming to know about it. The occupants die due to lack or absence of relief and rescue as no body comes to know of the accident imediately.

Can a computerised automatic system like telemetric be installed at the beginning of the road and at the end of a accident prone segment of the road which could relay the vehicle crossing the entering point to its counterpart at the base of the hill so that if any vehicle does not reach the end point is known and its tracking is possible. Such auto monitoring systems can also be placed at selected intermediate points with some relief and rescue teams.

My friend is learning to drive, and he drives with both feet! I know this is really bad, but I can't explain to him why it's bad, beside possible damage to the car. Any other explanations?

This might be long but please read so I can finally prove him wrong....

Okay so my BF has never had driving lessons. He drives with one major belief- when you break you are supposed to watch behind you to make sure the person doesn't crash into you.

Basically- If you are driving at any speed, and someone breaks due to traffic or a red light, you don't just break with traffic, you look in your rear view mirror and make sure the person behind can break too. So you can't just put on your breaks, you have to break, and SPEED up to make sure you don't get hit.

He thinks it is up to him not to get HIT from behind. He says that's what the rear view mirror is there for. I tried to explain to him that once you see the break lights come on in front of you, you should ease on the breaks. If everyone cautiously follows this rule it would reduce accidents.

If you have an opinion please please respond, I told him I would write on here and see what others' thought.....

I have received email several times regarding crashes as a result of using cruise control in the rain. They say hydro-planing could result due to the car accelerating on it's own when the wheels leave the ground. This sounds logical, but could it just be made-up baloney so people forward this on to others in their email address book?

My driving instructor took me around the DMV that I will be taking my test at, and drove me on a practice course. He said that it was only practice, and it was unlikely that I would have the same route on my actual driving test. I was talking to this girl, and she said if Driving instructors take you around the DMV or on 'practice' courses it is illegal. So, is it legal or illegal?

what do you think should be the lagal age for a driver?I say if you are not legally an adult why give a teen a set of keys?they are rude drivers( most of them) the are still very immature and if they went to drivers ed for a few months then they have not learned to drive in all kinds of weather, and many other situations.A person can not legally buy cigarettes until they are 18,and that is to save thier lives a little longer, then why hand them a set of keys to drive what can be a deadly machine if used wrong and they use a auto wrong.these teens drive like they can not be hurt or killed and disrespect the others on the road like they own the road once they pass a test that just about anyone can pass.

I have an SUV, which is all wheel drive and I always go slow when the weather is bad. a lot of the people here the North West are so stupid when it comes to driving in bad weather. It drives me crazy. They go way to fast and are talking on their cell phones not paying attention. We had over 200 accidents 3 days ago because of people thinking they would be okay traveling at the normal rate of speed. Does this irritate you?
