Well ,my alternator went in my 1995 nissan altima, I need to tow it about 25 miles back home.Should I fix the altenator there(it is on a big hill at a community college)or should i tow it all the way home and fix it there.Should I replace the battery also?

The above answer is good. I would also attempt to do it there weather permitting.
I would like to interject that unless you can get the front wheels off the ground, I would not tow this vehicle.
25 miles is too far to just pull the car, especially if it is an automatic. That would destroy the transmission. A stick shift might be ok, but best bet would be get the drive axle off the ground.

put a fully charged battery in and drive it home rather than trying to safely towing on a hill or trying to dolly the vehicle while on a hill. as far as repairing it do it at home, the reasoning is - what if its something other than the altenator.

I've had my alternator go out on me while driving. Since it's not to far just stick a full charged battery in it and drive it home. If you have the tools and the new alternator just replace it where it sits. Keep in mind after you replace it you want a full charge on your battery or you could short out the new alternator.
