And why, in Ireland, is it nearly impossible to pass the test, and yet we have some of the worse drivers in Europe? (esp at roundabouts)

Ha! I made a left hand turn and instead of pulling into the suicide lane I pulled into oncoming traffic! The poor guy giving me the test grabbed the steering wheel and jerked us into the suicide lane. He then very calmly instructed me to make two more left turns which brought us back to the DMV. He then said, "I think that you should come back next Tuesday." I found out later that he didn't work on Tuesdays! True story, I swear!

I didn't fail but I thought I was going to. While doing a three point turn, I forgot to put the car in reverse. I didn't give the car a whole lot of gas so I didn't move much but I still let a nice string of curse words flow out of my mouth. The lady giving me the test was a little surprised. I was embarassed and immediately apologized. I passed though :)

I failed for not taking up good position after a right turn into a housing estate. The fact that a removals truck, not van was blocking the road seemed to have bypassed the tester.
I failed the first time, cos I was a bad driver..

Ok when I was 16 in New York I had to take it 4 times!

One was cause I hit the curve making a turn because the one before they said I made them to wide.

One my 3 point turn cause a "traffic violation" cause a person was trying to pull out

another one I didn't Look enough

I'm really not a bad driver

I have never gotten a ticket

I just think the instructors scared the crap out of me

1. Couldn't reverse around a corner to save my life, got on the kerb 2x lol.

2. My indicator turned itself off and he said I failed to indicate before turning left. Also came off dual carriageway and continued doing 40mph on a 30mph rd AND at a x roads i was turning rt, a bus going forwards waited and the driver waved me on, I went and the examiner gave ma a SERIOUS fault for it.

3. Not looking through my back window before driving forwards doing a turn in the road!!

4. Driving too close to parked cars on a busy main rd at 5.00pm. if i'd have waited for oncoming traffic to disappear he would have failed me for holding up traffic in my lane !

5. I PASSED 5TH DAY 5TH MONTH 2005 !! was I happy lol.

after that i changed my driving instructor and passed next time without a single fault

You fail because you cannot drive deffensively and these problem is mostly seen in women like you. Driving needs a lot of skills and you need to think fast in those situattions that may put your driving at risk. if you cannot drive deffensively and you dont even care about the rules and regulations on road then you should not be driving. There are only two things to remember in driving and these things are SAFETY and SAFETY if you understand this but you cannot apply it, then therefore if I'm a driving instructor you will defenitely fail....remember two things GaL.

I got failed because I changed lanes without indicating.

Which is supposed to only carry a 15 point penalty.

The instructor wrote that my light where not working as the reason that I had failed.
