It is simply a commercial that is trying to show how tough their product is. It wouldn't look as "tough" if the air bag deployed.

if the airbag came out than it would say that we have a wimpy product here check out the one where two bulldozers smush a f-150 no airbags deploy on that one either they are saying that the trucks are tough enough to take on what you give them and then take some more

In an age where we have talking Geckos, flying Chevys and a phone network that follows it's customers around literally, it's time to get your head out of your backside and realize that it's only a commercial... so repeat after me... "It's only a commercial"... go ahead and say it over and over... and let us all know when you get a visit from the snack faerie !

Because the underlying message is:

"our trucks can take whatever abuse is dished out and drive away"

They couldn't do that with a bag out.

becuse it was on a computer and they didnt want to mess up their precious product
