I was unable to turn off Hazard lights. The next thing I did was disconnect the battery. About 12 hrs. latter I connected the battery & my problem was gone. WHY ? Vehicle is a 2002 Dodge Van. The car is up North from Florida & temperature dropped into the teens when that happened.

Check your other lights to make sure they work, then check the fuses for the lights to make sure you don't have one that is broken or blown. It could be the internal wire is broken and loose. Other than that, not sure what else it could be other than a wiring issue. I'd do nothing for now and see what happens in the future. If it happens again, then go through the electrical and the other lights to see if they are affected as well.

I already do, I rarely, have my lights on. I do not use any lights when watching TV. and only use them for a short period of time when I need to go into the kitchen at night. Utilities are getting far too expense, and I have cut way back. Only use the dishwasher when I have full loads, same with the clothes washer and dryer.

You did not say if the hazard lights were blinking on and off or just on. If the hazard lights were on full time, but not blinking.. Replace the hazard flasher. These lights are wired independently of the ignition switch and the turning off of the ignition switch will not effect the hazard light performance.
