for road use, asphalt road, that is:
use a tire with best road wear rating. that will be the number between 100 to 500 showing relative wear rating. the higher the number the better.
next check traction rating, which is a lettter from a to f, a being best.
i found michelins have the best for these criteria. let me know what you find.
good luck.

Nokian Vatiiva are AWESOME tires, but that is relative to living in New England. Great in snow, smooth dry road ride without that annoying Whirring noise from very knobby tires. Have had them for 3 years now and have since moved to W. Virginia and now Florida, no issue with heat or reduced fuel efficiency.
I run them on a 2001 Ford F-150 crew cab pick up (basically a Ford Expedition). Cost installed 3 years ago with tire disposal fee was $850 for 5 tires. Hope this helps and keep researching.
