I own a lexus IS300. ans the manufacture says to use high octane fule only. What would happend if i used the cheap gas? Will it mess up the engine?

yea is mess up big time make ur engine dirty the acceleration is will weekes and is300 is build for speed ...so 89 and 91 i dont own a lexus but i own an accord 02 and i use 91 all the time and never swith back to 89 or 81

Use the highest you can afford. The engine was programmed to run on a higher Octane. You will hear pinging and possibly knocking if you use a lower octane the recommended. It is also always best to use the same octane don't fill up with 87 one tank then 93 the next and so on.

It can mess up the engine, at least in theory.

Most modern engines have a knock sensor that will prevent serious damage but your fuel economy will SUCK and drivability will go all to crap. The cost per mile for fuel is actually cheaper using premium that using regular grade as the fuel economy is much better with premium.

USE THE HIGH OCTANE FUEL! the computer can adjust so it will seem to run ok on less than premuim but you will not like the repair bill for new 02 sensors , and cat. converters
