Why is it that all I hear about is 91 civics and accords and taurus and explorers Where are all the people that drive 72 Chevy short beds and 68 chevys does anybody own anything older than a 91? Oh and why is it that nobody knows anything about the car they drive?

Hi from Liverpoo, England.

I am partially sighted and as this prevents me from learning to drive, I have never bothered finding out how an engine works.

I think its about time I found out, so I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of a beginners website that can tell me, or if anyone can tell me on here I would be very gratefull.

Thanks for any info you can provide, and for those who are about to flame me because I have poor eyesight, get a life.

Okay I love to blast my AC in my vehicle on full blast at the coolest level. Is this the reason my gas doesn't last very long?

If I put it on a less cool level, but still blast it at full pressure does this make a difference. Thanks!

What is the least expensive, yet reliable vehicle to purchase for my family of 6? I would love to get the zero % financing that I've seen available on certain makes / models. I am only interested in a new vehicle. It seems to me that the minivans are the lowest priced for the most seating, but the gas mileage isn't much better than the SUVs which we now have and the gas is crazy!!! What is my best financial move - I MUST purchase a car within the next few weeks. Thank you.

I'm talking about the one that can help you to start the engine without a key. But what if I'm living in a place that weather is always perfect (not too hot/not too cold - southern cali)? Do I really need that to warm up my car before I approach to my car? (It seems to me that this is the only benifit for keyless starter, pls correct me if I'm wrong =)
Another question is, eventaully we still a KEY for ignition if we wanna drive off, right? So this keyless starter is not really keyless, I just wanna confirm. You still need to look for your remote to unlock the door, get in, and look for the key to put into the ignition, then drive off. Is this the right procedure? Since I just bought a new Cadillac and everybody is making fun of my car saying why it doesn't have keyless starter, but I really don't see what's the big deal out of it. Any info will be welcome, thank you very much.

I have a 95 cavalier, 2.2L, and I'm wondering if its a good idea to get a hitch installed on it for a move out west I am going to do. It would be used for a small U-Haul tailer.
Anyone have any advice on a hitch for this type of car? I also don't know what kind of strain it would put on the engine, theres 250 thousand on it, I wonder if it would be worth it and if the car would make it out there.....

I just bought my first brand new car, and two hours later got rear ended! Can you believe it? It took so much time and effort for me to finally commit to the new huge payments and now it has been in an accident! WTF. Okay, so it could be worse but how do I know if it will ever be the same? Can they tell if the frame is cracked or bent? I need it to be back to 100%. It looks like the bumper just needs to be replaced but I got hit pretty hard. BTW it is a 07 Civic coupe. Help me ease my pissiness.

The suzuki 3 cyl. was getting 40+ mpg depending on the model and accesories. Now that gas prices are going up why aren't the auto companies bringing the 3 cyl. back. The Geo Metro was very popular. I've seen commercials for 41 mpg city for the toyota and honda's but now they're priced as a hybrid. My 78 Ford Courier gets 30 mpg. I also see the larger vehicles now rated at 25 to 30 mpg. What the heck is going on with auto industry and mpg that we could have had years ago? And have had some pretty good ones in the past.

i got a letter this morning from someone saying im blocking access to the private road im on. my car is parked millimeters away from my garage... as we are a two car family.
so i dug out my deeds and it clearly says im allowed to park there as long as i dont 'obstruct' now this isnt a narrow road.. it is a large road with pleanty of access for arctic lorries and everything to park there.. but since this new guy took over the shop at the bottom of our road there has been nothing but trouble! surely they cant stop me from parking infront of my own property? and they are threatening to charge me for the court costs =o i pay part maintenance for this road, yet they are saying im not allowed to use it? and where do they expect me to park my car if i only have one garage? what can i do ?? =(
