I really cannot stand the toll roads with the coin drop plazas every ten to twenty miles. I am a fan of the roads that use the toll ticket/electronic toll collection system.

Hahahaha. I have a halarious story, but I'm not going to embarrass myself here with all of the details. Lets just say that I live in an area where there are no toll roads. I had to drive to Chicago one time and had the lovely oppurtunity of experiencing a toll road. Now I work in transportation, and I was well aware of their existance.....I just had no idea. I'm not big on keeping cash so this was not a pleasant incounter. I hated it.
I thought that was the purpose behind us paying taxes......I don't know.

Of course, I don't like paying the tolls...but usually toll roads are pretty well taken care of and they don't have as much traffic. They are usually a straight route to where you want to go. But if I had to travel them often, I would want a pass or a reduced rate. I think the States that have them, use that money to maintain the toll road and other roads in their state. I guess I don't really like them, but they may be a necessary evil. :)

It depends on how fast I want to get somewhere if I use the toll roads. We pay too much for them

Though it may be irritating to stop and pay every few miles, it is generally better maintained than the free road. So, a necessary evil.

I wish they just read your vehicle number and bill you electronically.

I don't take any now but when I was younger and traveled I did. I always feared not having money and getting caught at one.
