What is the least expensive, yet reliable vehicle to purchase for my family of 6? I would love to get the zero % financing that I've seen available on certain makes / models. I am only interested in a new vehicle. It seems to me that the minivans are the lowest priced for the most seating, but the gas mileage isn't much better than the SUVs which we now have and the gas is crazy!!! What is my best financial move - I MUST purchase a car within the next few weeks. Thank you.

I have an Olds van, Kia makes one and they're supposed to have a 10 year warranty. But, it's not the sexiest vehicle. Good luck. 2D

The only car that I know that seats 6 people comfortably is the Chevrolet Impala because there are no bucket seats in the front. It has one long seat in front, whereby 3 people can sit up front and of course, the usual 3 more in the rear. Nowadays, most cars have bucket seats in front which means only 2 people can fit in the front. Plus, it has 6 cylinders and is better than any mini-van or SUV on gas mileage.

why new only?? you waste alot of money on the upfront cost and taxes when a little older vehicle is much better for the money...I don't know where you live but we are selling a 2002 Ford Windstar - seats 7 people, we just had a kid move out of the house so we are downsizing, it gets good mileage 22 mpg, plus it looks as good now as the day we bought it and at only $6000 it's a GREAT buy!

No Free Lunch, however look into Dodge, they have Jeep grand Cherokees in 4x2 and 4x4 with CRD desiel engines, they have great crash test results and they look good. And you would be supporting Ameirca and her workers. If you need to save some cash even the older Jeeps Grands and Cherokees get over 200,000 on them normaly. Good luck
