I'm 17 and a learner driver. My dads just taken me out in his car for a driving lesson, and while we were out, we were going down a 40mph road, and there was a cyclist riding his bike. His tire hit the curbe with forced him to fall off his bike (because he was going so fat) right in front of me. I had to swurve so I didn't hit him and almost crashed into the car besides me in the other lane. I dont think people should ride their bikes on roads unless they're in a cycle lane. I know it's legal and they have every right to, but do any drivers here get nervous when drive past a cyclist? I was never keen on them to begin with and i'm certainatly not now.

i am planning to go on a trip around the USA in july/august and i was thinking about renting or buying a used car. i want it to be the cheapest ever :) so i don't want to spend more than $1200 and i would like to sell it at the end of the trip. i would arrive from Spain to New York city.
1) is it possible to buy a used car even if being a foreigner? do i need some special documents?
2) do you recommend buying o renting? which is more economical?
3)if buying, where would you recommend me to look? in location or by web site.
4)is it better to buy once outside NYC (economical)? where would it be a good place to buy?
5) i looked on craigslist and some cars cost like $40 or less, what is the swindle?
6)which type of car would you recommend? one that doesn't consume a lot of fuel. Diesel, gasoline?
7) do you know anyone who has travelled that way?

I've recieved a copy of a carfax report on my mini van however

I have a 2003 ford focus and was wanting to get the windows tinted. I have read that current UK law states that 70% of light must be let through the front windows. I have also read that most cars as standard block out 18 - 22%. Does anyone know how much the ford focus front drivers and passengers windows block out as standard and therefor what level of tint I can legally get. Thank you

(This happend in the U.K) This question is about an incident that happened to me yesterday, I was driving along a road doing about 50mph (speed limit 60mph) and came round to a not so sharp corner and an oncoming lorry flashed his lights rapidly and my response was to put on the breaks fearing something maybe round the corner, This event caused my van to veer onto the right lane then back into the left and hit the wall. It has totalled the front of the van i was the only one involved. I'm worried about loosing my liscence or worse jail or something. Anyone know what could be the following proceedings for this. And what possible outcomes are.

Im 16 and I have a license. My parents & I are so different. I am crazy & love to have fun & stay outta house. My parents r boring & all they do is stay in the house & watch news & movies & crap. Literally they NEVER get outta the house. Me, I have friends, & i have a life, but bc of them, im not able to have a life. U don't know how many times I stay in the house. Pretty much every weekend/fri, I'm stuck in the house. They always say stuff like I'm too tired or can't you find a ride? I am sick of always having to ask ppl 4 ride. I have a license but they won't let me go anywhere b/c im not "experienced enuf."
I am a good driver and they've been with me, i make all As in school, i do not get into any trouble at all. What more can I do for them? I also have a job. They won't let me do anything & I feel like living at home w/ them is now like living in a depressed-lonely hell hole.lately have gotten soo pissed off that I'm really about to lose it. Evrything would b easier if I had a car
