Texas law defines a "motor driven cycle" as any motorcycle with less than a 250cc engine, and these are not allowed on freeways. But most "250s" sold by manufacturers have displacements of from 234-249cc. Does Texas have some sort of official designation where bikes in that range are considered to be "motor driven cycles" or are they considered to be "motorcycles" (250cc+). Has anyone ever gotten a ticket for riding a "250", like a 234cc Honda Nighthawk CBR250 on a freeway in Texas?

I love the bike.... my only complaint is the lack of pegs for my wife to sit on the back. I'd like to buy some pegs to fit in with the rest of the chrome package. Alternately, if there are any DIY plans floating around, I wouldn't mind building them myself....

whats the deal with that? I see it everyday. Some middle-aged man or woman,no helmet, have the pleather pants on and vest ,ewwww.lotta good thats gonna do.I pass you give ya the ole 2 finger wave down low and ya just ignore it and keep on sputtering down the road..lmao...its like they ALL think theyre too good. YET its them that havent a clue in my book.Im assuming they dont wave because they deem the sportbike community as a threat, safety concerns, younger riders etc etc etc...like were all dumb @ss's. Im 35 years old,i ride to ride,i just prefer a bike that handles and isnt soo damn heavy.
It cracks me up everytime one of you just cruises on by.Maybe the finger is more appropriate these days.

My daughter (while in the midst of her anger over my using my index finger to write in the dust of her Harley the message, "I love you",) wrote to me in an email "never ever do that to mine or anyone else's bike again! You could be killed for doing that!" My eyes must have looked the size of PIE PLATES when I read that! Is this true??? Do Harley owners take something like that this personally????? Please explain. Thanks! And thanks to all of you who responded to my problem... I will print all the answers for her and give them to her in hopes that she will find hope in the form of a solution to my stupid, impetuous "writing fiasco" misjudgment/thingee.

Thanks again!

Okay, here is what happened. My daughter has a Harley she loves, and recently, while she was in the hosptial having surgery for her cancer, I drew the words "I love you" in the dust on the outside of her bike. Later, when she saw it she about came undone! She was so upset, telling me that I had ruined the custom paint job! She said that she tried "dusting" it off, and could still see the words, she even tried washing it off, and could still see the words. At first, I didn't believe her but later when I checked it out myself, sure enough... you can see the words if you look very closely! What happened here??? These aren't "scratches"... more like a "stain" on the surface. I licked my index finger while doing the words, to make the words stand out better (wiping the finger off between licks, of course!) so did that do it? Is there a way to get this out? I feel absolutely horrible about it! She has been through enough, and now her mom ruins her paint job on her bike. Help???

I just purchased a 1976 Honda CB750, but need to know if I have a 750A, F, or K so that I can order the correct brake parts. The VIN is CB750-2559313. It has chrome front and rear fenders and the emblem says "750 Four". Thank you!

I bought a 05 suzuki gs500f that had been dropped (while stopped) on it's right side. The scratches aren't bad, but the front turn signal popped through the fairing and cracked it a little. It seems like I can just wrench the signal back through the fairing hole until it is seated again, but I can't seem to do it. It works fine, but kind of sags in the hole and moves around. Is there a way to properly seat it again? It has a hard plastic circle and a rubber covering that looking at the left blinker sit on opposite sides of the fairing to hold it in place. I can't get the rubber covering to pop through the fairing. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Looking at the Spec's of a quart of Yamaha 20W-40(which runs about 5 bucks a quart), I don't see anything special about this oil except it comes in a Yamaha container...

Four-Stroke Engine oil(which every gas powered car is sold in the West)

API SJ Service(which is American Petroleum Institute)

http://www.chevron.com/products/prodserv/nafl/auto/content/motoroils.shtm

Now get this...

Recommended Use

"All four-cycle gasoline engines in passenger cars, light trucks, power boats, motorcycles and other mobile and stationary equipment.
Excellent for high-revving engines in small cars and light trucks.
All grades are specially formulated for use in turbo-charged engines."

I think we have been taken for one very expensive SHAM by Motorcycle Shops...
