"Of all time". Modern stuff is too good - doesn't have the character of older bikes.
I'd go with the old Laverda 180 triples (c.1100 cc). Loads of torque, well built, stiff handling, loud. And very well built.
If you wanted something german it would have been a BMW R90S - the one with the smoke grey-bronze tank.
Triumph have had some good bikes, and still make them.

easy.... the honda 750-four. That bike set the standard for all other bikes. power, handling, reliability, everything you look for in a motorcycle.... this was the benchmark. Yes... even for Harley. It's why they went to the evolution motor and later to the v-rod. Before then it wasn't uncommon to see a Harley broke down on the side of the road... or see one in a garage having the "top-end" refreshed.
