i never have, ive seen half million mile Hondas and read about one million mile Hondas... if you have seen a really high mileage HD motor, what model was it? how many times was that engine rebuilt to make that mileage mark?

while in (N) the bike idles fine. I rev it slightly, she comes up to the speed then drops down and struggles. Will accelerate nice if I open the throttle way up. Will stuggle and cough if I accel slow or maintain speed in 1st or second gear.
Bike is 1986 Honda Rebel

Been a mechanic for 30 years just not on bikes. Need a nudge in the right direction. Clearances, special marks to look for. Simple things like that.

I have some experience with scooters and motorcycles. The only motorcylce i have used before was my grandpa's bike which i believe is a Yamaha and its quite old since the early 90's. But im very short and i have to wear high boots or very high heels to even hop on it and my feet barely touched the ground. Im about 4'10 and i weigh about 130pds. This would be my first bike buying on my own, so are there any good sites for not too expensive bikes?

Just a poll. Is the term crotch rocket a positive name for sport bikes. (Rockets are fast and cool.) Or negative towards sport bikes. (Cheap, uncomfortable, rice burner, cereal box bikes..etc.)

I've heard the term used both ways.

I am writing a poem about motorcycles. The poem is finished but i am not very poetic so if anyone can suggest a few things, it would really help make this poem better.
-What sound does a motorcycle make(ex vroom vroom for a car)
-How would you describe a motorcycle in motion?
-Whats the smell of a motorcycle you just turned on?

Thanks, i already have about 40 lines and any constructive criticism will help.

I can afford one, so obviously I'm not jealous about not having one. My significant other never "ran off with a biker" so it's not that. I've ridden them before, so I do understand. And, from what I've been told on more than one occassion, I am a real man. So I pass all the cliche tests of what supposedly is required (according to many of the Harley guys on Yahoo Answers) and yet I still don't want one. According to the requirements set forth by all the Harley guys, I should be unloading all sorts of cash at the Harley dealer and riding home on 800 pounds of underpowered chrome. For some reason I'd rather ride my BMW. Can someone please tell me what my problem is?

I stripped the threads on my oil bottle/tank (that is in front of the engine). I bought a newer-used one and re-installed. I filled the new bottle with 2 qrts oil, and nothing registered on the dip stick. I added 2 more qrts oil (total 4 qrts) and it finnally registered on the dip stick. I started the quad - mistake - and blew oil out the air filter and exhaust. I then drained every bit of oil and cleaned the filter and pipe. I re-filled the oil tank/bottle with the recommended 2 qrts oil, and the tank was dry and not registering on the dip stick. Why will the oil not register or even come close when I know I added the proper amount oil to the tank/bottle? Could the oil bottle have a blocked hose? I know the bike has the right amount of oil in the gears, but not in the bottle.
