i never have, ive seen half million mile Hondas and read about one million mile Hondas... if you have seen a really high mileage HD motor, what model was it? how many times was that engine rebuilt to make that mileage mark?

the lipsiot, do you even understand this?

if you own a bike and take road trips, you will put more than "average" miles on it.

this here is a little tid-bit just for you mad jack...

"In 1958, the American Honda Company was founded and only one year later, Honda introduced its first model in the United States, the 1959 Honda C100 Super Cub. The Honda Cub holds the title of being the best-selling vehicle in history, with around 50 million units sold around the world" so no, i have not seen a 1950 honda... but the FIRST fullsize bike they ever built still runs.

Here's a story about a guy with over 700,000 on a 1994 Harley.

Nope - most tractors fall to bits before they get anywhere near 1,000,000 miles - but that is rather a long way and probably only the Space Shuttle clocks up that sort of mileage.

As the average motorist does around 12,000 miles a year it would take over 83 years to clock up a million miles anyway.

I've seen a couple with 100,000 on the clock.

**EDIT** Of course I understand it you dummy but, in common with nearly every other damn Yank in the world you only ever think of yourself and your own country. I live in the UK (thats the little island just to the west of Europe) where a coast to coast "roadtrip" can only ever be around 500 miles and it p*sses down with rain for half the year, so its no fun taking your bike out unless you have to. The average annual mileage in the UK for a bike or a car is around 12,000 miles whether you like it or not - sorry!

Never seen a speedometer that can record 1 Mil. miles. Now you watch the import manufactures will be in a race with American manufactures to build one and advertise about it.Like Toyota did and Ford does in some of its advertisements.

My mo-ped only records up to 999 then turns over,i guess it will.

I have read about high mileage harleys in iron horse magazine. But most are just estimate-i believe arount 300,00 or 400,000 was the most. It's hard to gauge when they were rebuilt because most were outlaw bikers who just rebuilt when something broke....those type of riders don't really look at the odometer that often.

I read on here, 375,000 miles on a 1980 Shovel, The guy still had original trans. and bottom end ,but had bored it enough times there was no more cyliner wall to bore.
He put in a new motor and is up and running again.

Have you ever seen a 1950 Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki or Yamaha? I've never seen one, but still see many pre 1960 Harley Davidsons still on the road.

Not yet, but I'm working on it. Only 13K on my '06. Only one small (about 8-900 mi) trip so far. The rest is mainly commuter miles.
