Hey, you ladies wanted equal rights and now all your wants a desires don't have to follow any stereotypes. That's good mostly, I think. If you want to do it because it is appealing to you, great!! If you, or someone else wants to do it just to be different, I would probably say, that could make you or that someone just a little weird. Tell your parent that if that is the only reason they are worried about you being a lesbian, they have nothing to worry about. I might even suggest that they find a local "bike night" and take in a visit. Wow!! Some of the girls on bikes today!! And the bikes they ride! No, not many lesbians at my local bike nights. Good luck though.

Wanting a motorcycle is not weird and does not automatically make you a lesbian. Lots of girls ride these days. It's not like the old days, where girls were considered bad for riding or hanging around bikers. Times have changed, and for the better in my opinion.

In fact I always notice girls riding, as I find this very sexy. I love bikes and girls, so naturally, when you combine them, its even better. You can tell if its a female rider because of a ponytail, or smooth tight leathers...especially on sportbikes where they stick out their .... well, you know what I mean.

Some words of advice though. Please wear proper gear, take an MSF course to improve your riding skills and always ride responsibly.

No it's not weird! More and more women are taking to the road behind the handlebars instead of behind their boyfriends on the motorcycle. I'm sure there are some lesbians too but I've been seeing a lot of beautiful heterosexual women on their own bikes. Tell your parents to check out your local bike night and see for themselves.

Perfectly normal for a girl to ride a motorcycle. More girls are riding motorcycles than ever right now. But do yourself and the rest of the world a favor and buy anything BUT a harley. If your into american cruisers buy a victory. They are a great bike backed by a great company. And just about any european or japanese brand is great nowadays.

The last I read on this subject, and it was some time ago, 30% of the new riders are women. I'm sure the number is growing. There is nothing weird about it at all. And here is something you can take to the bank....A woman riding with a group of bikers is the most protected woman of all. You can spend your free time getting a pedicure or enjoying the freedom of riding the wind. At the end of you life you'll look back on your riding experiances and remember them fondly, and not remember your pretty toes!

I think your parents are the weird ones. While my wife's not into motorcycles, I know quite a few women who ride or want to.

Not wierd at all. Go take a Motorcycle basic rider course. They will loan you a bike, helmet, etc. and that way you can actually ride and try it out before you spend any money. Also can save you money on insurance and make getting your license easier.

No it's not weird and you don't have to be a lesbian to ride your own motorcycle. (Trust me you are normal)

My parents didn't want me to get one either. I think it's just them saying things in order for you not to get a bike. No matter what you do, you won't convince them a bike is a good idea. Respect their wishes and don't get one, or get one and prepare to hear the worst. Good Luck.

That's not at all wierd, Sam. Fact is, at least 10 % of all riders are female...and that number increases daily. Good for you for wanting to be one.
And, for the record, I agree with other posters here..women who ride are HOT.
