I have an 06' 1200 custom. I want to change the stock riser. As you probably know my speedometer is mounted on top of my riser. Are there any risers out there that have clamps to match the bolt pattern of my spedometer??

I was at my sister's house the other day and about 10 minutes after she put her 2 year old son down for a nap a Harley with loud pipes rode by and woke her son up. Her son would not go back to sleep. My sister complained that the bike in question and several of his friends ride by several times a day and night, disrupting their childs sleep as well as their's and their neighbors peace and quiet. I countered that it is the bikers god given right to have loud pipes and that if every vehicle on the planet had loud pipes it would be a safer place since we all know that loud pipes save lives. I thought she was being petty about the loud piped biker and she thought I was being ignorant. Who's right? Hog Power baby!!!

I want to get a motorcycle. I have a home in Dallas and go to college at Texas A&M University which is about 200 miles south of Dallas so I was wondering if there is a significant difference in gas mileage between cruiser and sport bike models.

I am mounting a luggage rack/backrest to my 1993 Honda 750 Nighthawk, it came with no hardware. Do I need longer rear shock bolts? Do I have to trim cowling for rack to fit properly? How much trimming is required? Does the trimmimg affect appearance in a negative way??

I am working on a deal for a 1989 Honda GB500 Tourist Trophy motorcycle with 9000 miles on it. I am trading a '95 Ford pickup that is worth $3000.00. I know this bike is rare and collectible. Kelley Blue Book lists the retail at $3865 and trade-in at $2650. NADA gives a high retail value of only $1680. The few GB500's that I can find for sale have prices ranging from $3500 to $5000. This model was only imported in 1989 and 1990. I plan to make the deal if I can sell the motorcycle for more than the value of the truck. My husband wants me to make sure there is a market for it before I trade.. The truck is an extra vehicle that we drive occasionally. Should I make the deal or not?

My friend just got a 4-wheeler and it says 250 on it...I'm just wondering if it's the cc's or if it means something else. if the cc's on a 4-wheeler are a little more than the cc's on a dirt bike does that mean that the 4-wheeler will go faster?

I am interested in purchasing a new Ninja 250 (my first bike ever). I have read in many places online that they need to be "serviced" at about 700 miles after the break in period. What does this mean? Is this required of all new motorcycles?

I have a 1981 Honda CB750C that has run perfectly. Now, when I turn the ignition, I get no power. No headlight, no panel indicator lights, no horn, no starter, nada.

The battery is brand new, and the short does Not drain the battery. I've replaced all fuses including the fusable link by the battery.

Can anyone give me any ideas as to where this short may be, and how to correct it?

Thx

JH

I'm currently having my father's 1965 Honda CL77 Scrambler being restored by a restoration specialist. I don't know much about motorcycles and I'm learning as I go. One of the restoration guides I have for this bike says it is a wet-sump engine. What does that mean, and is this technology common in just older bikes or modern bikes as well?

The right edge of the tire is rubbing against the inside of the fender (or something inside there), especially when I carry a light passenger. I have adjusted shocks to the stiffest setting (5). Still rubs. Possibly the tire size is wrong?

mileage is unknown but high I am sure. bike just tuned and runs very strong. Live in NYC with lots of traffic and I know it is air cooled and heat is a issue but oil loss is about 1 qt per 150 miles. This sounds excessive with no leaks or smoke to speak of. I am lost on this one.
